FLOWERS FOR ALGERNON is a beautiful and heartbreaking story. The movie was excellent, too. Dalton Trumbo's JOHNNY GOT HIS GUN would be another interesting book to report on.
I read the story 60 years ago. It takes the reader on a roller coaster of emotions, hoping that Charlie will end up "normal" and possibly marrying Alice Kinnian, only to be devastated when reality intrudes.
