A month ago I wrote at the end of White Nights;
I wonder how, if a man when given a moment of pure bliss at the end of a life they were continuously suffering in, would make them feel. They would forget all their grievances, aches, unmet expectations, and misplaced hopes and live in that moment until it ended. This is perhaps Paradise.
Turns out I was right. This feeling is different from the feeling of being compensated.
I think Kindness wins in the end, no matter the wretchedness and darkness people carry inside themselves. We are selfish, but it's not because we want to hurt others. We end up mistaking a lot, deceived by the appearance of things around us.
Albert Camus was right when he wrote, "One Must Imagine Sisyphus Happy."
If we remove the trials, tribulations, tests, and shortfalls—the boulder we keep pushing from birth to our death—we find no pleasure in just walking through this life. A life without meaning and purpose is a life not lived.
Time may not heal wounds and may only teach us to live with the pain and regret but each day you experience new things and perspectives. The hallmark of a human is someone who stays true to his principles and yet has flexibility of mind that can change. Change is inevitable and it is also what brings about understanding. It is the thing which brings you peace and acceptance. The human consciousness is a strange thing. It takes care of itself and it also sabotages itself.
To end on a small note;
It is better to make peace with yourself than to make someone else wait or inconvenience them because of one's selfishness. If your heart is pure, and you have no evil intentions, no matter how much you tell yourself the kind of person you are, the unforgivable things you have done or the deceptions of the devil as you go about talking and understanding him, one day the Sun would rise and illuminate your cave. And you would find a reason to keep going.
One shouldn't be afraid of oneself and of other humans. The supreme power belongs to Him alone and He can change and foil your plans only to save you and give you better so we do not end up eating the fruit.
